Angela Lee was born and raised in Panama City, FL. She relocated to Tallahassee following Hurricane Michael in 2018. Ms. Lee has 6 children and 8 grandchildren. She wholeheartedly believes that family traditions and family togetherness is vital to healthy living.
Ms. Lee started her career in Early Childhood Education. She was a director at several childcare centers, as well as a Mental Health Specialist for Head Start. She has raised two children with emotional/behavioral struggles which inspired her to change her career.
Ms. Lee received her BS degree in Psychology from Florida State University and her MS degree in Clinical Mental Health from Troy University. She has experience as a Substance Abuse Counselor and has supervised various departments and programs, from counseling and case management departments to social rehabilitation and residential programs. Most recently, Ms.Lee was a Social Services Supervisor at an inpatient psychiatric facility.
As a parent of children with special needs, Ms Lee’s passion for helping individuals navigate the mental health system comes not only from professional experience but also from personal experience. Ms. Lee strives to educate others about the importance of treating individuals with respect and dignity and ensuring everyone has the right to person-centered care. Ms. Lee's personal and professional experiences led her to founding Bright Future Behavioral Health Inc. This non-profit organization seeks to educate the community about the importance of mental health treatment and to be an integral part of providing affordable access to treatment.
